Seesaw

Room 3 has now changed over to seesaw, which is an online portfolio for your child. They will bring home a note and QR code for it today. This means we will no longer be using the room 3 blog. Please use seesaw to see announcements and updates of the wonderful work your child is doing.

Wheels Day

Wheels day was so much fun! We got to bring our scooters, roller blades or skateboards and we were able to show our skills. Check out all the fun.

Athletics Day

On Friday we had athletics day and it was so much fun! We got to take part in some fun activities like 3 legged races, gumboot throwing and sack races. Then all the children competed in 2 running races, a 75m and a 100m. They ran so well and tried their best.

Bike Trip

On Friday we went on a trip to the esplanade with room 1 and 2. We took our bikes and went for a long bike ride along the river, the children showed so much determination and perseverance. After our bike ride we practiced our biking skills on the pretend road. We had to try and remember the road rules. Then we got to play on the playground and we made a quick trip to the wildbase recovery for birds. Thank you so much to all of the amazing parent helpers! You made this trip possible.

Halcombe School Gala

On Saturday we had our school Gala. It was so much fun! There was face painting, bouncy castles, magic carpet rides, a petting zoo, yummy food and lots more. The school raised $21,000 for our students which is AMAZING! A massive thank you to all of the parents who helped leading up to and on the day.

Keyboard Fun!

This week we have 3 keyboards in our class to play with. We have been using our fingers to make music and we like to play along to songs.

Spelling at Home

In your child's KIT book you will find some spelling words for them to learn at home if you have some time. Below is a video which shows you how you can make spelling fun and hands on.

Totara Reserve Trip

On Tuesday the whole school went on a trip to Totara Reserve. The junior school went on buses and when we got there we saw a cool camping ground surrounded by bush. We rotated around different activities like relays and a bush walk. Then we did some learning as a class about leaves and different trees. After lunch we got to have a swim in the river and build towers and rock pools with all of the stones. We had such a fun day. Thanks to all of the parents who came along to help.
